Literary prizes

Literary contests sponsored by BN that rewards Brazilian and Portuguese authors.

As part of Brazilian literature diffusion and valuation activities, both in the country and abroad, the Brazilian National Library (BN) promotes the awarding and the recognition of Portuguese language authors.

Created in 1988, the binational prize (Brazil and Portugal) is considered the Portuguese language most important one and contemplates authors of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community

Directed only to Brazilian authors, the National Library Literary Prize is granted since 1997 and contemplates nine categories.
